Family Status: My daughter Emma took a BA in Film Studies at Aberystwyth University, an MA in Film and Literature at De Montfort University, and is now doing a PhD in post-apocalyptic American cinema.
 
Awards: Eileen Illtyd David Human Rights Essay Prize, for a study of Alexander Solzhenitsyn, later published in Contemporary Review
 
Interests: Travel (I have travelled continuously for the last twenty-five years from the Norwegian Arctic to North Africa!), also history, astronomy and stamps. 

Publications: Amputated Souls (2013),The Happy Passion (2011), Life and the Limestone Dragon (2010), Dream Forest Diary (2008), We Rescued a Dog Called Gordon (for younger readers, 1997), Introducing Kivi (1994).
